Elijah Hughes Obituary, Death;- St. Louis police are asking for the public’s help to solve a shooting last week the claimed the life of a teenager.
According to a spokesperson for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the shooting happened shortly before 10:30 a.m. on July 11. Officers responded to a call for a shooting near Lillian and Beacon avenues in the Walnut Park East neighborhood.
Police arrived to find the victim, Elijah Hughes, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Hughes was rushed to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. He was 16.
Homicide detectives learned Hughes was riding his bike near Lillian and Genevieve avenues when he was shot. Hughes then ditched his bike and ran approximately one block southeast to Lillian and Beacon.
