Augustin Sanchez Obituary, Death; – The Franklin County Coroner’s Office has identified a man who lost his life after being struck by a motorcycle while he was crossing the street, which also resulted in the death of the motorcycle operator.

Augustin Sanchez, aged 46, perished in an incident that occurred around 10 p.m. on June 27 on West Broad Street close to Lechner Avenue. He was in the process of crossing the street when Nathan Downard, aged 27, was riding his motorcycle westbound on West Broad Street.

A toxicology analysis indicated that Sanchez had traces of fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine in his system. His death has been classified as an accident. Motorcyclist fatal crash: Both a pedestrian and a motorcyclist lost their lives following a collision on Columbus’ West Broad Street in the Hilltop area.

According to a crash report, Downard attempted to swerve to avoid hitting Sanchez but ultimately collided with him. Following the impact, Downard and his motorcycle slid into the opposite lane, where they were struck by an eastbound Ford Focus.

Emergency medical personnel transported Downard to OhioHealth Grant Medical Center, where he was declared dead due to his injuries. According to the coroner’s report, Sanchez was living on the streets of Columbus.
