Jusiah Mason Obituary, Death; – A 19-year-old man from Atlanta faces murder charges in connection with the mass shooting that resulted in the death of an 18-year-old teen from Columbus, who had graduated from high school just days prior to his demise.

Mohamed Fofana has been charged with murder regarding the death of Jusiah Mason on June 14, as indicated by documents filed in the Franklin County Municipal Court. A warrant for Fofana’s arrest was issued on June 20. Currently, the Franklin County Jail does not list him as an inmate, nor is he recorded as an inmate at the Fulton County Jail in Georgia.

Jusiah was among seven individuals shot shortly after 3 a.m. on June 14, near the intersection of South Ludlow and West Town streets, close to the Scioto River in downtown Columbus. Six other individuals, including one minor, survived their injuries, while an eighth person sustained an injury while attempting to escape the gunfire.

An affidavit included in the arrest warrant for Fofana states that law enforcement identified him through video surveillance footage.

According to the report, the video indicated that the gunfire originated from a blue 2017 BMW X3 bearing an Ohio license plate. Authorities confirmed that Fofana was the registered owner of the vehicle. The following day, Fofana boarded a flight back to Atlanta, as noted by Det. Lowell Titus II, who authored the affidavit.
