Brian Lloyd Obituary, Death; – Connecticut State Police have released the name of the Pennsylvania driver of a tractor-trailer who was killed earlier this week in a crash on Interstate 84. He was identified as Brian Lloyd, 60, of Philadelphia.
A news release indicated Lloyd was taken to the state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The crash was reported to state police around 4:50 a.m. Wednesday in the eastbound lanes of I-84 east of Exit 15, the agency said in a news release.
State police said Lloyd was driving a Volvo VNL tractor-trailer in the left lane when the truck veered into the median. It then veered right across both lanes and struck “an overhead illumination pole,” and went through the metal beam guardrail, state police said. The tractor-trailer continued down an embankment and into a wooded area, state police said.
They said Lloyd was ejected in the crash and sustained “fatal injuries.” The state police crash reconstruction squad responded to assist in the investigation, the agency said.
