Melvin Crumble Arrested; – A shooting at Walk-On’s on Tatersall Park Drive left a 22-year-old pregnant woman injured and her unborn child dead, according to the Hoover Police Department. The incident occurred on June 14, 2025, at 1:40 p.m., when officers responded to a call involving two employees.
Upon arrival, officers found the woman with a gunshot wound to her abdomen. She was quickly transported to UAB Hospital by the Hoover Fire Department and is expected to survive. However, her unborn child did not survive the shooting.
Police detained Melvin Crumble, a 36-year-old employee of Walk-On’s from Fairfield, at the scene. He was identified as the shooter. Investigators have determined that the shooting was not intentional but resulted from Crumble recklessly handling his firearm in front of the victim. There was no evidence of an altercation between Crumble and the victim, police said.
