Jacquise Zanders Obituary, Death; – The Metropolitan Police Department has disclosed the identity of a man who was fatally shot inside a restaurant on Benning Road on Tuesday afternoon. He has been named as 21-year-old Jacquise Zanders, a resident of Southeast, DC.
The incident occurred around 5 p.m. on May 13 in the 4500 block of Benning Road, SE. Upon arrival, law enforcement officers found two individuals with gunshot wounds. Emergency medical personnel attempted to assist both victims; however, Zanders succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The second individual was transported to a medical facility with injuries that are not life-threatening.
Investigators are actively seeking to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting and are encouraging anyone with relevant information to contact the police at 202-727-9099 or send a text to MPD at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department is also offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information that results in an arrest and conviction.
