Robert Eugene Davis Jr Obituary, Death; – On Monday, the Kern County coroner’s office confirmed the identity of the individual who collided with a metal street post on Highway 178, east of the Haley Street off-ramp, resulting in his death on Friday. Robert Eugene Davis Jr., a 54-year-old resident of Bakersfield, was transported to Kern Medical following the incident that occurred at 12:27 p.m. He succumbed to his injuries at 1:36 p.m. The California Highway Patrol is currently conducting an investigation.
