Jennifer Lynn James Obituary, Death; – A 49-year-old woman, identified as Jennifer Lynn James by the Larimer County Coroner’s Office, was tragically shot in her home on April 28 in Berthoud. Reports from 9News indicate that the bullet was fired randomly into her residence.

Authorities discovered her with a gunshot wound around 11:20 p.m. on that date, and despite the efforts of responding deputies and a Colorado State Patrol trooper to administer first aid, she succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The coroner’s office classified her death as a homicide resulting from a gunshot wound to the chest. Investigators found two bullet holes on the front of her house, located in the 500 block of First Street, and concluded that the shots were likely fired from the road in front of her home.

Surveillance footage analysis led to the identification of 20-year-old Ebenezer Worku from Denver as a suspect. He was arrested on May 1 and charged with first-degree murder, subsequently being held at the Larimer County Jail with a cash-only bond set at $1.25 million. Worku’s initial court appearance was on May 9, with a subsequent hearing scheduled for June 6. It is important to note that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and arrests and charges are merely allegations until a conviction is secured.
