Chitprasong Amphavannasouk Obituary, Death; – Sioux Falls authorities have identified a 45-year-old victim who was fatally stabbed on Friday.

Jordan Benedict Adams, aged 35, faces charges including one count of second-degree murder, one count of first-degree manslaughter, and one count of aggravated assault in connection with the alleged homicide, as stated in a court document from Minnehaha County.

According to an affidavit supporting Adams’ arrest, officers from the Sioux Falls Police Department were called to an apartment complex located in the 3500 block of South Larch Avenue at approximately 4:30 a.m. on Friday. Upon arrival, they discovered Chitprasong Amphavannasouk, 45, unresponsive in the hallway of the complex. Despite attempts to revive him, Amphavannasouk was declared dead at the scene.

Investigators located Adams in an apartment within the same complex. When he answered the door, officers reportedly noticed that he had blood on him. Furthermore, Adams was seen reaching for the front pocket of his black hoodie during his interaction with the police, which later revealed a pocketknife concealed in the garment.

Adams allegedly informed investigators that he had sustained a cut but claimed he was unaware of the circumstances surrounding the incident. He received treatment for a laceration on his lower calf.

A witness at the scene, who alerted the police, recounted witnessing a confrontation between the two men. She stated that she saw Amphavannasouk retreating with his hand raised before Adams stabbed him and fled the area. Although the witness did not know Adams’ name, she was able to identify him accurately from a photo lineup. A second witness supported her account of the events.

During questioning, Adams stated that he had been drinking with friends in one of the apartments prior to the incident.
