Maria Hyde Obituary, Death; – Authorities have confirmed the identity of the individual involved in a fatal accident that occurred early in the morning.
According to the New York State Police, at approximately 5:22 a.m. on Saturday, troopers from Highland responded to a deadly motor vehicle collision on Old Post Road in Marlborough. The investigation revealed that the driver and sole occupant of the 2014 Kia Sorento was 34-year-old Maria Hyde from Poughkeepsie.
As reported by state police, she was traveling northbound on Old Post Road when she lost control of her vehicle and collided with a tree located on the eastern shoulder of the road.
Hyde was declared deceased at the scene. The Town of Marlborough Police Department assisted troopers at the crash site.
State police have indicated that the investigation is still in progress and are urging anyone who witnessed the incident to reach out to the State Police Highland Bureau of Criminal Investigation at 845-691-2922.
