Tabitha Peters Obituary, Death; Killed Pemberton woman identified as IHIT appeals to the public for information

Tabitha Peters Obituary, Death; – The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has confirmed the identity of the woman discovered deceased in Pemberton, B.C., last week as 22-year-old Tabitha Peters.

The body of the Pemberton resident was located in the 7400 block of Prospect Street at approximately 10 a.m. on February 22, according to a statement released by IHIT on Thursday.

“Emergency responders, including British Columbia Emergency Health Services, arrived at the scene; however, the woman was pronounced dead at the location,” the statement indicated. Authorities have stated that preliminary evidence points to this being an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing threat to public safety.

The investigation, which is being conducted in partnership with the Pemberton RCMP, Squamish RCMP, Whistler RCMP, Integrated Forensic Identification Service (IFIS), and the BC Coroners Service, remains active, as noted in the statement.

“We are in the early phases of our investigation,” remarked Cpl. Esther Tupper. “We encourage anyone with relevant information to come forward.” Individuals with information related to the incident are urged to contact IHIT at 1-877-551-444.
