Mark King Obituary, Death;- A man from Florida has lost his life following the collapse of a large overhang at the entrance of the Bar Harbor Regency Hotel on Monday morning, as reported by authorities.
According to the Bar Harbor Fire Department, emergency crews arrived at the hotel located at 123 Eden St. shortly after 6:45 a.m. after receiving reports of an individual trapped beneath the fallen structure.
First responders successfully located the individual and extricated him from the debris. The victim, identified as 64-year-old Mark King from Boynton Beach, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Officers from the Bar Harbor and Mount Desert Police Departments subsequently arrived to initiate a death investigation.
The investigation into the incident is being led by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), with the Maine Chief Medical Examiner’s Office also participating in the inquiry.
