David Diaz Jimenez Obituary, Death; – On Tuesday, officials confirmed the identity of an individual who lost their life in a two-vehicle collision that occurred on Saturday in Lamb County.
The Texas Department of Public Safety reported that 67-year-old David Diaz Jimenez from Hart was operating a 2002 Ford Ranger westbound on U.S. Highway 70 at approximately 4:48 a.m. on February 15.
A 2006 Toyota Sienna was being driven eastbound on U.S. 70 by a 15-year-old male from Earth, Texas, accompanied by a 20-year-old male passenger.
As per the preliminary investigation conducted by the DPS, Jimenez veered into the eastbound lanes, resulting in a collision with the front left side of the Sienna. Jimenez was transported to University Medical Center in Lubbock, where he succumbed to his injuries. The 15-year-old driver was also admitted to UMC with injuries that were not life-threatening.
The investigation is still ongoing, and other factors that may have contributed to the crash have not yet been determined. DPS noted that the road conditions were dry and the weather was clear at the time of the incident.
