Marquise Banks Obituary, Death; – Jury selection commenced on Friday, January 3, for the trial of three individuals charged in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on I-77 in Green in August 2023.
The accused, Sirvonte Suggs, Giovanni Porter, and Ahmere Williams, face multiple charges related to the incident that resulted in the death of 23-year-old Marquise Banks.
According to deputies from the Summit County Sheriff’s Office, Banks was shot around 6:15 p.m. on August 3, 2023. Reports indicate that Banks was operating a Lincoln SUV and heading southbound on I-77 when gunfire erupted from a pickup truck traveling in the same direction.
As a result of the shooting, Banks lost control of his vehicle, crossed the median, and collided with a Mercedes. He succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital, while the driver of the Mercedes survived. Additionally, deputies reported the discovery of suspected drugs, electronics, and ammunition at the scene.
