Latoya Scrivens Obituary, Death; – A woman who lost her life in a shooting incident on New Year’s Day in Stockton has been named. Law enforcement officials arrived at the 2400 block of Gareth Circle at approximately 11 a.m., where they discovered a 47-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound.
According to the Stockton Police Department, the woman was transported to a medical facility; however, she succumbed to her injuries. On Thursday, the San Joaquin Medical Examiner confirmed her identity as Latoya Scrivens, a resident of the Stockton area.
On Wednesday evening, authorities reported that 20-year-old Jkwon Williams, the son of the victim, had been identified as the suspect. He was located within a few hours following the shooting and subsequently taken in for questioning.
Williams has been booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on charges of voluntary manslaughter and weapons-related offenses. The investigation remains active.
